“What’s more important … the bond of marriage or the pull of desire?”
“But what’s more powerful?”
Andi Armstrong is the 29-year-old CEO of the UK’s largest LGBT campaigning organisation, Proud Unity. She’s a public figure, an empowering speaker, a devoted boss and a loyal wife. Or so she thought.
Having spent the past seven years fighting for the marriage rights of same-sex couples, she can’t imagine that her own civil partnership might actually be failing. She committed for life. She’s bound by law. She’s an example of how it works … Andi Armstrong knows that she has to make it work. She wants it to work.
But what happens when desire takes over ... when the pull is too strong? Should Andi sacrifice everything, her beliefs and her loyalty … for desire, for excitement, for happiness ... for love?
For someone who isn’t her wife?
“Binding Devotion” is a saucy and topical lesbian fiction novel that will leave you questioning the intricacies of commitment in the face of unexpected infidelity.

This book is the story of choices, it's true. But what the synopsis and cover fail to tell you is that there is a bit of thriller in this one.Archer did a phenomenal job of tugging at my emotions, I felt enraged at the cheating, sad about the loss of love and worried that the true romance wouldn't happen.
Without giving too much away I will say that I felt wholy satisfied at the end. The twist was one I didn't see coming and the romance is so perfect.
I must also admit that the sex was steamy in this one.
Anyone looking for a romance with a twist needs to read this no matter what your feelings on cheating.
Go read it.
Seriously.
It's really good.
PS: I don't think the cover and blub does it justice.

Binding Devotion edition by Kiki Archer Literature Fiction eBooks Reviews
This book had me contemplating what I would do in the same position. It is probably something we have all thought about at one time or another. Stay with your partner because you made a promise to do so or move. With equal rights getting closer it is something we may all have to think about before we even say yes when the one we love asked to marry you.
I enjoyed the whole storyline. The gay rights activist tried her best to be the wife she needed to be, but she didn't know how to behave with her irresistible new assistant as there were definitely sparks between them. The mystery element to the story and the activist's cheating, manipulative wife's true colors were very interesting and an enjoyable subplot to the romance.
Another Winner from Kiki Archer. Absolutely love this book. Andi and Pippa are the perfect match. I completely detested Zara. I could wait for Zara to get hers. And as always the Perfect ending to the perfect story.
This is the third book I've read by Kiki Archer. The stories and characters keep getting better and better.
In this twisted tale, the question is posed...what if the "perfect" couple isn't so perfect after all? The super power lesbian couple of this story are a couple in public, but their private life leaves a lot to be desired. By the first two chapters, this is very clear, and the rest of the book takes you on the twists and turns of this couple's relationship.
It was a great read. The ending was the biggest surprise of all, which you'll have to read to see what really happened.
Once again Kiki Archer did not let me down. "Binding Devotion" is filled with laughs, love, compassion, sex, hatred, and of course the unknown. One of the main reasons I love reading Kiki's writing is that I can never "call" the ending or what is going to happen next.
I also find that Kiki's writing could actually happen in a person's everyday life. They are not far fetched stories. I have never read one of her books and thought to myself that this would never happen in real life, because everything that she has written about has or can happen.
I had this book on my "to-read" pile for quite awhile before I read it. This story is very different from Kiki Archer's other books.
Not to say that's bad. It's actually quite good. There were so many twist and turns in this book, that I started to wonder if I was reading a mystery! I almost dreaded what I might find in the end as I read it. I shouldn't have worried.
Kiki's other books are a little formalistic, which I'm totally OK with because that makes them dependable. But this book really showed me how masterful Kiki can be when it comes to writing characters and their stories.
Off the beaten path, but well worth the read.
Kiki Archer's newest lesfic romance marries the issue of LGBT marriage equality with the romance genre very effectively. As Andi Armstrong spends all her time and effort to ensure there is marriage equality in the UK, does it make her blind to the flaws in her own marriage? And what happens when she meets someone with whom she's really meant to spend her life?
The transgressions of the evil spouse make it easy to root for Andi and her true love. But even so, this is a well done effort that made me go back and read Archer's first two books (also very good). One minor quibble with this book the evil spouse seems to prefer edgy sex while the model couple likes sweet, romantic sex. A statement that made me a bit uncomfortable.
But this book is definitely worth a read. It's one of the rare instances in the genre where movement issues are combined so well with romance issues.
